Serape (fail) - My Favorite Things Nail Challenge Day 6 "Stripes"

Hello everyone!

Today I'm showing you my entry to the "Stripes" day of the challenge!
I'm very late, & sorry, because I've been doing several craft projects this week and I had no time (and clean hands!) to do my nails! No my projects are over but I'll make a post to show you what I've done ;)

For today's challenge, I wanted to do serape inspired nails! These are the mexican blankets you might have seen before. This kind of pattern always make me think about Peru, and Peru makes me think about one of my favorite animals: Llama! So I wanted to give a try, I hope it does look like a llama!

Today was also my first try at one stroke and it was a success, I was really proud of my mani... before my topcoat! :( It made the paint crackle...

I started with ONE coat of China Glaze - Adventure Red-Y.
All the stripes are done with gouache paint, but the llama is done (in order from darkest to brightest) with E.Pinaud - Chocolat, China Glaze - Desert Sun and China Glaze - Kahalari Kiss.

I'm really proud of this mani, but also sooo disapointed  :(
What do you think?

Have a great day! <3

  4. I think it's awesome, even with the cracking. It just makes it look like an antique weathered blanket rather than a shiny crisp new one! :)

  6. La classe ! J'aime trop le lama ^^
Pour le côté craqué ça donne un style, je pensais avant de lire l'article que c'était volontaire :)

  8. As Mommy Does - I really like this mani because of the cracks, not in spite of them.
