Starry Gradient

Hello everyone!

I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while! Still have a lot of work because of my studies, plus it was my 18th birthday! I hope I'll have more free time because I hate to keep a mani when it's chipped and I want to nail art more! :)

This month I received a lot of polish for my birthday being in an AWESOME birthday group! (I'll do a haul birthday gifts post soon!)  I was out of time but with bare nails so I decided to do a gradient combining some of my new polishes:

I had several replacement for my old Wet'n Wild - Black Crème which was becoming gloopy and my friend Yvonne sent me the pretty Essie - Going Incognito :)
I made a gradient with them using a makeup sponge, after one coat of Going Incognito.

On my ring finger I added one coat of Kleancolor - Silver Star (again: thank you Yvonne!) and it was perfectly sparkly!

I really enjoy this mani, do you like it?

Have a great day, I hope to post soon ;)

Shadows

Hello lovely readers!

Today's post features a quite simple nail art, but it is really classy and makes your nails look longer/finer!

(I would love to give credit to the original creator of this style, but I didn't succeeded in my searches...)

To achieve the look, you'll only need two color polishes!

I applied two coats of an unnamed rose Avon and directly with the brush of my Wet'n Wild - Black Crème, I draw the lines (a little bit curvy on both ends).

I really like the vintage color with this design! I think this is a design I'll reproduce because it is so easy, quick to do and gives a chic look!

What do you think?

Have a wonderful day!

Tribal Galaxy!

Hello girls!

When I saw the tribal galaxy design that Mr Candiipants achieved inspired by a society6 phone case, I immediately wanted to make a try:

Sadly my acrylic paint pen (POSCA) wasn't opaque enough and crackled with my topcoat :/

I used a lot of colors for this design, starting by one coat of a dark green crème from Avon.

I sponged other colors from Avon: a light grey crème, a navy shimmer (similar to China Glaze - Rodeo Fanatic) and a purple glass fleck (similar to CG - Senorita Bonita).
I also sponged Orly - Butterfly and Biguine Makeup Gloss & Shock - Blue Lagoon.

Then I added one coat of China Glaze - Fairy Dust (thank you Nikki!) to give it a lot of sparkliness!

I decorated this galaxy using my white Posca and some holo gold hex glitter, then Out The Door Top Coat ;)

Did you liked it? I am disapointed of the opacity and crackling of the white paint but I think these are cute! Not as badass as Mr Candiipants' but a little more detailed :)

Have a great day!

My Queen of hearts and her red roses!

Hi Nail Polish Addicts!

Here I am with a wonderful polish to show you! My friend Rachel generously accepted to blend me a custom polish (all the way from Australia!).

I didn't thought I could layer it over another color than grey, but I found other pretty combinations after all! Here I applied one coat over two coats of Zoya - Yara :)
If you are jealous and want to purchase it, go buy the inspiration for it: Once Upon A Polish - Queen of Hearts!

For the accent nails, after the background color was dry, I started by drawing roses with a fine white Posca (acrylic paint pen).
I added the drops of red using a tiny brush and China Glaze - Adventure Red-Y. I finally outlined them with the same brush and Wet'n Wild - Black Crème ;)

I am really in love with this polish and its combination with khaki! <3
I'm not sure if I did well with the accent nails though... What do you think?

Have a wonderful day ladies!

Prada Chevron Mani with my Blueberry Glitter Franken!

 Hello everyone!

I hope you're doing allright! I'm working hard for my studies, but still had time for nail art!

I wanted to use my lastest franken and things happened that I had two untried colors that were making the perfect combination :D So I gave a try at the Prada pattern Sophy Robson introduced to the nail art world ;)

I'd describe my franken as a blueberry fine glitter mix. The polish is clear but packed with glitter. I mixed black, duochrome, bright blue, purple and blueberry holographic glitter.

Do you have a name for it? I was wondering about blueberry and cats (all my polishes have names about cats)... ?

Here is how I achieved the look:

I started with PVA glue as basecoat (my first try wasn't convincing :s). I applied one of Rouge Baiser - Gris Lavande to give more opacity before the coat of my franken (only one!).

With the polishes Kiko - 274 and Biguine Makeup Gloss & Schock - I freehanded the "V" lines.
Then I used a black marker to outline the geometric shapes.

Do you like this nail art? I'm a bit sad the lines aren't really sharp and contrasting, but I liiiiike it!

I hope the PVA glue basecoat won't make it pop off, I already have a chip on both my thumbs...

Have a great day!

Lacey Doll

Hello everyone!

Sorry it has been a long time! I've started my 2nd year of 3D studies and I need to work a lot. I've been wearing my dream catcher mani since Monday and it had only minor chips so I might keep it one day or so until I change. Next mani will feature my last franken! :)

Today I'm showing you a mani I did last week between two challenges for a lesson I had to teach my  bf's mother class about minimum nail care for labour world (and a bit of nail art!).

To achieve this look I started with one coat of Miss Cop - Beige to give a little bit of opacity to my nail, and then one coat of OPI - You're a Doll. (<3)

Then I stamped a lace stripe from my Konad plate m57 using Konad Special Polish - Black. Using the same polish and a tiny dotting tool, I did little polka dots on the free edge. :)

Aww look at these tiny coral flakes! I love the way it keeps the polish from being boring (being a nude). Thank you a lot April for helping me get it! <3

Did you like this mani? I really like the base color and I think the lace gives it a bit of sexiness without overwhelming it!

Have a great great day ;)

Dream Catcher! Final of My Favorite Things Nail Challenge: Favorite Mani!

Hello everyone!

Long time no see! I'm sorry I've been busy this week because I'll be back to school in 2 hours!
I'm feeling lazy ><

BUT today I've got some badass nails for you! I'm showing you the latest mani of My Favorite Things Nail Challenge: MY FAVORITE MANI! (right now?)

I did these nails with the home made decals technique ;)

My background color is OPI - Skull & Glossbones (2 coats).
I freehanded the feathers using China Glaze - Purrfect Plum , Rouge Baiser - Gris Lavande, OPI - Fly , OPI - Did it On'Em , and OPI - Alpine Snow.
I outlined with Wet'n Wild - Black Crème.

These nails were inspired by the accent nails on this mani by Astro Wifey (which is SO talented!).
Do you like them? I'll never want to take them off !! :D

Thank you thank you Kelly for this fabulous challenge! I'm so sad it is over!

Vintage Flowers for Day 9 of My Favorite Things Nail Challenge!

Hello everyone!

Today is the day of floral nails! And I had tons of ideas for today, but after I saw a tutorial from Robin Moses I picked this vintage design. It is kind of abstract so it was quicker to do than every idea I had ;)

I only used nail polishes so it was quite different to do than with acrylic paint on Robin Moses video ;)
Almost everything here is a mix of color:
-background: Wet'n Wild - Black Crème
-background highlights: Wet'n Wild - Black Crème , Essie - Navigate Her
-roses: China Glaze - Adventure Red-Y, OPI - Hot & Spicy , OPI - Alpine Snow
-violets: Rouge Baiser - Gris Lavande
-leaves/plants: OPI - Uh-Oh Roll Down the Window , China Glaze - Kahalari Kiss , Modelite - Yellow

Here is an extra picture because I realized during shopping that my nails were matching my wallet!

I really love these nails I think they are romantic & classy.

I just thought of maybe adding the Louboutin touch to my nails, what do you think?

I'm really sad it's almost the end of the challenge, I really had fun doing it!!

Cosmic Gradient! My Favorite Things Nail Challenge Day 7 "Glitter"

Hello everyone!

Today is day 7 of My Favorite Things Nail Challenge and the theme is Glitter!

When I think about glitter, I instantly think about a gradient if I want to do nail art. But I wanted to do something a bit complicated for the challenge so I went for a 4 polishes gradient:

As a basecoat I wanted to try using one coat of PVA glue, that's what I did so I'll keep you guys updated on my thoughts!

To achieve the design I started with one coat of China Glaze - Stone Cold, and sponged OPI - Metallic 4 Life on the up part of my nail.
Then I sponged Orly - Space Cadet on the bottom half of my nail and added some duochrome glitter from Kleancolor - Chunky Holo Black.

I really like the effect of this gradient, giving a fire and space aspect that is really cool!
I'm also fascinated with all the polishes I used for this mani so I really like it!

What do you think?

Serape (fail) - My Favorite Things Nail Challenge Day 6 "Stripes"

Hello everyone!

Today I'm showing you my entry to the "Stripes" day of the challenge!
I'm very late, & sorry, because I've been doing several craft projects this week and I had no time (and clean hands!) to do my nails! No my projects are over but I'll make a post to show you what I've done ;)

For today's challenge, I wanted to do serape inspired nails! These are the mexican blankets you might have seen before. This kind of pattern always make me think about Peru, and Peru makes me think about one of my favorite animals: Llama! So I wanted to give a try, I hope it does look like a llama!

Today was also my first try at one stroke and it was a success, I was really proud of my mani... before my topcoat! :( It made the paint crackle...

I started with ONE coat of China Glaze - Adventure Red-Y.
All the stripes are done with gouache paint, but the llama is done (in order from darkest to brightest) with E.Pinaud - Chocolat, China Glaze - Desert Sun and China Glaze - Kahalari Kiss.

I'm really proud of this mani, but also sooo disapointed  :(
What do you think?

CMYK! My Favorite Things Nail Challenge Day 5 "Polka Dots"

Hi everyone!

Sorry my post is a little bit late during the week but I have been overwhelmed by painting projects and my hands never got clean. I'll make a post about those projects at the end of the week!

Today I'm showing my entry for Day 4 of My Favorite Things Nail Challenge, which theme was "polka dots"! I had the idea for this manicure for a looong time ago, at first I thought I was gonna submit it for Chalkboard Nails Dotting Tool Contest!

I was inspired by the pattern we see when we look close to a CMYK printed poster! And I thought this was the occasion to take a try to the newspaper technique ;) On to the pics:

To achieve this look, I applied two coats of OPI - Alpine Snow.
Then I took my colored polishes and I mixed every one with some Seche Restore. I used Rimmel - , OPI - Fly, and.
I grabbed my biggest dotting tool  and started dotting, making sure that the dots were overlaying each others.

For my accent nail, I applied two coats of OPI - Skull & Glossbones.
Then I cut a piece of newspaper, dipped it in medical alcohol and transfer the letters ;)

Did you liked this mani? It is so eye-catching!

I found this mani very classy, did you like it?

Saran Wrapped & framed nails

Hello everyone!

Last summer I bought a nail polish in a kind of a dollar store here in France but I never used it! It was quite a good brand and an interesting color but many not enough extravagant so that I'd wear it before today. I was thinking that I should use it these days and then I had a pretty good idea for this metallic polish: saran wrap! Maybe you don't know this technique but it's quite recent and trendy, so I'd planned to do it soon.

I thought it was a great idea to combine both the metallic polish and the technique that I wanted to try :) I added a framed accent nail to stay in the idea of first try & trendy techniques ;)

Enough talking:

So the nail polish I talked about is.... Biguine Makeup - Typhon Vert (n°6167) ! Here I applied 2 coats of it. As for every metallic polish the brush can leave strokes but you can control that if you're careful ;)

When the metallic polish was really dry, I applied one coat of Wet'n Wild Wild Shine - Black Crème. And when it was still wet, I dabbed over the nail a little ball made with a piece a plastic bag, creating the effect of saran wrap.

For the accent nail I just took a thin art brush and outlined the nail with Black Crème. I added a crystal rhinestone from Mellow Nail Art using my topcoat :)

I wanted to give a try to this new designs/techniques and I was really pleased with the results! I was really surprised how much I loved it! And a plus is that it was really easy to do on both hands!

Let me know if you are trying this look, I'll be happy to see the results! ;)

Have a wonderful day painting your nails!

Trendy Geometric Design!

Hi everyone!

Today I'm gonna show you some nails I did in the middle of May! I didn't have my blog yet, but I thought the design was worth pics!

I was scrolling trough pinterest when I discovered this design by the talented Madeline Poole. I fell in love with this design and wasn't able to imagine other colors than the ones she used and get the same effect! I even mixed different polishes to get the particular shades of Madeline Poole's mani.

So I started applying two coats of China Glaze - First Mate (you see it a lot on my blog!) for 3 nails and two coats of Gosh - Fossil Grey for 2 nails.

Then I applied some tape in the diagonal of my nail to make the checkered pattern with Sally Hansen - Blush & Gosh - Fossil Grey for the blue based nails. For the other nails the checkered pattern is done with an anonymous burgundy & China Glaze - First Mate.

I freehanded the ruffian styled stripped with an anonymous red & Wet'n Wild - Black Crème topped with China Glaze - Senorita Bonita (for the blue based nails). For the other nails I used a green mix and again Wet'n Wild Black Crème ;)

I hope you liked this mani, I really did!
I find this design really classy, innovative, elegant.  So thank you Madeline Poole for this amazing inspiration you give us!

xoxo

14th of July Nails!

Hello!

I hope you are having a good day :)

Today is the French National Day! I took a lot of time to think about what my nails should look like, but I wasn't inpired by the flag. I imagined a manicure with the important events celebrated but it was complicated and finally I was almost sure it would be messy, not aesthetic.

So I went simpler and I'm really satisfied with how it came out!

I used a lot of polishes to do this nail art!

I began with a gradient using:
a mix of an anonymous red polish, OPI - We have a purple, China Glaze - Papaya punch
OPI - Alpine Snow
Sephora - Jacuzzi Bubbles
China Glaze - Rodeo Fanatic
Wet'n Wild - Black Crème

Then I freehanded the Eiffel Tower silhouette with WW - Black Crème.

The fireworks are made using Layla Cosmetics - Mercury Twilight, or Orly - Rock It (+ MT), or Nail Venturous - Floam (+ MT).

I hope you like this nail art as much as I do, I really like the fact that for a National Day design, I went original and cute!

Then I realized that my nails were the same exact color than one of my tees! I'll be wearing it today ;)

Did you liked that design? Are you doing french nails for today?

Happy polishing!

NOTD: skin & sizzle

Hello!

Today I'll show you quite modern nails!

This super holo mani features Layla Cosmetics - Mercury Twilight! I used two pieces of striping tape for every nail to leave some space just with basecoat and I freehanded the black lines with Wet n Wild - Black Crème ;)

I love Mercury Twilight, this polish is an impressive holo polish! I wanted my nail art to stay uncluttered so that I could enjoy the holo effect. I also wanted to experience more the fact to leave a part of the real nail visible :)

Did you like this mani? Or is this too modern for your taste?
I think I might prefer black framed holo nails, so I might try that soon!

Happy polishing!

Pink gradient with black & white glitter

Hi everyone!

Here is a mani I made yesterday (when I had my camera with me it was already night so I wasn't able to take pics)!

When I discovered Lynnderella - Connect the Dots it was already hard to get, since it's the only nail polish that I wanted for her, I just dreamed that I could have it someday but I didn't wanted to get involved in any drama! And then, in January or February, a friend of mine was choosed in the Llarowe's lottery and she generously offered me to order it for me! (Thank you again!)
Nowadays, there is a lot of drama going on but everyone has his opinions about it, and I'm here to talk you about the polish, not the one who makes it! ;)

For this mani I put two coats of OPI - Sparrow me the Drama, then I shaded it into Rimmel - .
Then I applied one generous coat of Lynnderella - Connect the Dots.

I hope you like this mani! I feel like there's something wrong... Maybe it's too messy? What do you think?

xoxo

Guest Nails: Aztec

Hi everyone!

This week I was at my grandparent's with my sister, so I did her nails! She wanted some aztec nail art, with that bright orange!

I started with one coat of OPI - Fly. Then I added stripes with OPI - Hot & Spicy (2 coats!) and Rouge Baiser - Gris Lavande.

I freehanded the pattern with Wet'n Wild - Wild Shine - Black Crème, and I made the dots with a dotting tool and Seche - Blanc.

I though about doing an aztec nail art lately and my sister showed wanting me to do it on her nails. I'm happy about how it turned out! :)

Do you like it?

Golden Arcs Nail Art

Hello everyone!

On January Zoya made this promo that allow to you to get two free polishes, all you had to do was pay the shipping! Since I never had the chance to try those polishes, I asked a friend from the US if I could ship them to her, and I received them in the beginning of March (thank you Kelly!). Today I'm showing you a mani with Zoya - Yara.

I started with two coats of  Zoya - Yara, which is a khaki/olive green with tiny gold flecks. I could have gotten away with one coat though.

The gold ornament is made using Stargazer - 237. Their collection of chrome polishes is really good! The gold is the less opaque of the collection so I needed to put a second coat, but it still works great for stamping and stuff. I plan to buy a backup, my bottle is almost empty ;)

The arcs themselves are made using Wet'n Wild - Black Crème and a tiny little art brush.

The next picture show better the gold flecks:

I was very incertain of what to do with my nails, but then I had a flash of inspiration and in one minute I had ideas and color combinations for 3 different manis! I hoped you liked the one I showed you today! Let me know if you recreate it!

Have a lovely day!
